TEAM DEAR TOOTH FAIRY
We avoid person-to-person contact in the office; and facilitate social distancing within the office.
We limit the number of people in the office at any given time by introducing “ONE CHILD ONE PARENT” policy, no double booking of appointments, longer “resting” time between appointments, and staffing the office accordingly.
We greet patients and parents at the front door: review COVID questionnaire; check face masks; provide hand sanitizer; check temperatures of EVERYONE coming into the office; and reschedule if necessary.
Throughout the office, we have medical grade air purifiers equipped with true HEPA-13 filters constantly filtering and cleaning air in the office.
You will be seeing us in COVID-19-ready PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including headcover, goggles, face shields, respirators or surgical masks, gowns and shoe covers.
We adhere strictly to infection control measures recommended/ mandated by state and national agencies.
We adopt enhanced office cleaning and disinfection, including disinfecting high touch areas routinely and after each use (e.g., restroom, countertop, sitting area, door knobs).
We stay informed about developments and obligations; share guidance with patients and parents.
We will stay connected and be there for our patients by utilizing teledentistry as much as possible. Dr. Kim is on call 24/7.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach us at (201)763-6030, or email conact@deartoothfairyjc.com. Thank you!
To our wonderful patients and their families:
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health in this most difficult of times. All of us have been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are anxious about the welfare of our loved ones and our community. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your children’s dental health, safety and overall well-being.
As we are gearing up to reopen, initially it will be necessary to see a reduced volume of patients to comply with guidelines of social distancing and infection control from the state and national agencies. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). You can read about what has changed and how we will protect your health on our website. We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this process, and encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns so we may do our best to accommodate you.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you and every patient safe in our practice. Please feel free to reach by call (201) 763-6030, or email contact@deartoothfairyjc.com. To make an appointment, you can call our office or schedule online at www.deartoothfairyjc.com.
Thank you all so much for continued support for our small, private practice. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kim and the team at Dear Tooth Fairy

In addition to strictly adhering to the current CDC and OSHA guidelines and protocols, we are doing MORE to protect the safety and health of our patients, parents and staff at Dear Tooth Fairy:
“ONE CHILD ONE PARENT” policy. In order to limit the number of people in the reception and treatment areas, we kindly ask that only one parent accompanies the patient or per family. We also ask that you keep other family members at home.
We schedule the appointments apart as much as possible to minimize the number of people present in the office.
You will be asked to reschedule if running a fever or showing flu-like symptoms. We will be taking temperature of everyone entering the office with a digital forehead thermometer.
We ask that you reschedule the appointment if your child had a fever or experienced respiratory problems within the past 14 days, or if come into contact with a patient with confirmed COVID-19 infection in the past 14 days. Cancellation fees will be waived for illness.
Parents and guardians must wear a face mask for the entire duration of the visit. Again, due to limited supply of face masks, we ask that you follow our ONE CHILD ONE PARENT policy.
If more than one parent and/or patients need to be present, please let us know in advance so we can schedule your appointment(s) accordingly.
We are cleaning and disinfecting non-clinical areas of the office (reception, restroom, hallway) throughout the day.
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to speak to our staff.
We are at the SAME physical location but our address has a different street number now.
Our updated address is: 414 Grand St. Ste 3, Jersey City, NJ. 07302, inside Old Colony Square. Thank you!!
Effective immediately, our office will no longer be accepting new patients that do not vaccinate their children. Please contact our staff at (201)763-6030 if you have any comments and/or concerns. We truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you!
“Hall Crowns” can be a great treatment option for a young, uncooperative child with tooth decay. This is a case where two stainless steel crowns (“Hall Crowns”) were used to treat severely decayed (but not infected!) baby molars. No general anesthesia. No sedation. No drilling involved. This patient came in initially for a second opinion after a dental surgery under general anesthesia had been recommended.
Prior to the placement of the crowns, SDF (Silver Diamine Fluoride) treatment was completed to both the molars and the upper front teeth to stop the decay from progressing. The xray is from the initial consultation day. The mouth picture is from the follow up visit, three months after the placement of the hall crowns.
If parents choose to cover the black SDF stains on the front teeth, SMART strip crowns can be used where the front teeth would be covered with glass ionomer (GI) tooth colored crowns.
Call us at (201) 763-6030 if you would like to learn more about minimally invasive dental procedures for your children.

In addition to traditional restorative dental treatment (fillings and stainless steel crowns), at Dear Tooth Fairy we offer non-invasive dental treatment that involves “NO DRILLING” techniques, including:
(1) SDF (Silver Diamine Fluoride).and SMART
A 38 percent SDF solution is used for the arrest of cavitated caries lesions in primary teeth, i.e., to stop the decay in baby teeth. This technique is sometimes combined with a GI (glass ionomer) filling and called a “SMART” filling.
(2) ICON
Tooth friendly filling by infiltration – no drilling needed. In addition, this treatment optically blends and makes the “white spots” fade away on the front teeth.
(3) Hall crowns
Stainless steel crowns are placed without local anesthesia and drilling. This treatment is not for everyone but when appropriate, it provides a very effective quick and pain-free dental treatment without the need for more extensive behavior management modalities such as laughing gas anxiolysis and IV sedation.
(4) LSTR (Lesion Sterilization and Tissue Repair)
Instead of extracting an infected tooth, a pulpotomy (“baby root canal”) can be completed with an antibiotic medicament. Again, in order for this to be successful there are certain conditions that must be met.
Please call us at (201) 763-6030 for more information. Thank you!
